On July 17, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Party Central Committee and President of the Republic, emphasized the robust relationship between Cuba and China during his meeting with comrade Ying Yong, Attorney General of the People's Republic of China and Secretary of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, member of the Political and Legal Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
His visit further demonstrates the significant relationship that exists between Cuba and China, involving our parties, governments, and peoples on a daily basis, he said.
The president stated that it represents the significant relationships our prosecutors' offices maintain and is a continuation of the excellent ties between our countries, which he described as special, trustworthy, and strategic.
Relations—added the Head of State—with historical roots, established by the historic leaders of our nations and that have withstood the trials and challenges of time.

Díaz-Canel highlighted that a crucial aspect of the bilateral relationship is the construction of a community with a shared future by both nations, and he also commended the regular exchanges of high-level delegations.
The First Secretary of the CPC Central Committee highlighted the visit last October of Comrade Li Shulei, a member of the Political Bureau and Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and head of its Propaganda Department, who led the delegation to the 6th Theoretical Seminar between the two parties.
He also emphasized the recent visit of Qiu Xiaoqi, the Chinese government's Special Representative for Latin American Affairs, who, as Díaz-Canel mentioned, headed a team of experts that spent eleven days working in Cuba.

He explained that they then visited several provinces and, following the directives of President Xi Jinping, conducted thorough work on the primary areas of cooperation between the two countries, which encompass food, energy, and cybersecurity as key strategic areas.
The President informed Comrade Ying Yong that during the visit, a major comprehensive emergency aid package from China to Cuba was reviewed and finalized, a gesture which he expressed appreciation for.
He stated that consequently, the decision was made to raise the rice shipment to 30,000 tons; boost the donation for photovoltaic solar parks to 200 MW; and include an additional 5,000 photovoltaic systems for isolated homes, enabling over 10,000 Cuban families to benefit from these devices.
Ying Yong expressed gratitude to Díaz-Canel for the reception, which he considered a great honor, and noted that his visit also reciprocates his colleague Yamila Peña Ojeda's visit to China last year.
He told him that throughout the day, he and his delegation had productive meetings with the Attorney General's Office and the Supreme People's Court, where they agreed on advancing bilateral exchanges and collaboration.
Representing China at the meeting were Huan Xin, the Chinese Ambassador, and Si Xialian, the Chief Prosecutor of Chongqing Province, along with other executives.
On the Cuban side, Alina Montesino Li, Deputy Attorney General of the Republic, attended; Patricia María Rizo Cabrera, Chief Prosecutor of the Legal Cooperation and International Relations Directorate of the Attorney General's Office; and Minrex executives.

Regarding other aspects of Chinese assistance to Cuba, such as loans, Díaz-Canel pointed out that these have been ongoing for years and are not recent developments. He particularly noted the delivery of a comprehensive package of parts and resources aimed at the recovery of the National Electric Power System.
The Cuban President also emphasized the significant consensus he reached with President Xi Jinping, whom he met last May in Moscow during the 80th Anniversary celebrations of the Victory over Fascism, he noted.
The president conveyed his appreciation for the significant and unwavering support that the People's Republic of China has continually offered to Cuba in opposing the U.S. government's economic, commercial, and financial blockade, as well as the island's placement on the spurious list of countries purportedly sponsoring terrorism. He also affirmed the island's backing of the one-China principle and denounced interference in the internal matters of the neighboring country.
During his meeting with Ying Yong, the Attorney General of the People's Republic of China, on Thursday afternoon at the Convention Center, which was also attended by Yamila Peña Ojeda, the Attorney General of the Republic, the Cuban President expressed gratitude to the esteemed visitor for the support his institution has provided in the training and development of Cuban prosecutors.
