On September 15, the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) organized a protest outside the Court of Appeals to oppose the release of Nazi Michaloliakos, the head of the Nazi criminal group Golden Dawn. In their statement, KNE emphasized that "there should be no tolerance for fascism and the system that gives rise to it."
Furthermore, the Press Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) made the following statement on the release of N. Michaloliakos:
“Today, exactly twelve years after the murderous attack by Golden Dawn’s assault squads on the communists and trade unionists of PAME, and just six days before the anniversary of Pavlos Fyssas’ murder, the Lamia Criminal Court decided to release N. Michaloliakos, the convicted leader of Golden Dawn, ‘on health grounds’! This unacceptable decision, which follows other similar release decisions, must now be overturned.
The bourgeois justice system, which downgraded the murderous attack on PAME to ‘grievous bodily harm’, resulting in the statute of limitations being applied to this criminal act, continues to show leniency towards convicted Golden Dawn members, their criminal Nazi activities, and their heinous crimes. At the same time, it does not hesitate to bare its teeth against the workers’–people’s movement, which resists, struggles, and asserts its demands.
No matter what the bourgeois ‘rule of law’ and its institutions do, they will not be able to whitewash the role of Golden Dawn and any other similar formations that have emerged since, as the long arm of the employers and the state against the workers’–people’s movement. The people and the youth will never forget its crimes.
Through their struggle in every workplace, school, and neighbourhood, the workers’–people’s and the youth movement will ensure the genuine condemnation of fascist formations and the exploitative system that gives rise to and nourishes them.”
