The Communist Party of Chile has issued a statement regarding Trump's recent directives that we have translated from the Spanish.

Stopping US Military Intervention

The Communist Party of Chile categorically rejects the directive from US President Donald Trump, which permits the deployment of US military forces abroad under the guise of dismantling "criminal organizations from Latin America."

This directive opens the door for the White House to intensify its siege of Cuba and retrace its steps toward military intervention beyond its borders, violating the sovereignty of other nations, as has frequently happened in the history of Latin America and the Caribbean. It further intensifies the escalation in violence, aiming to reestablish US imperial control through these means.

President Trump's actions are part of a serious global situation, including the announcement by his Israeli counterpart, Benjamin Netanyahu, that he will launch a military occupation of Gaza "on a very short schedule." This will intensify the genocide against the Palestinian people, with 61,369 deaths reported so far, including over 85 children who have died from starvation, along with the looming threat of the conflict spreading to other countries in the region.

Finally, we call attention to the fact that this escalation of violence is occurring 80 years after the United States dropped nuclear bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which resulted in the loss of 200,000 lives. We urge reflection on the lessons from this painful and reprehensible act, and we reaffirm our dedication to global peace and to preventing the recurrence of such catastrophic events.
