The Communist Parties of Cuba (PCC) and China (CPC) met in Beijing on Thursday for the VII theoretical seminar between the two parties, focusing on the practices and experiences related to advancing socialist modernization through scientific development planning.

Gladys Martínez, a member of the Political Bureau and the first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the PCC in Artemisa, emphasized the importance of these exchanges as a means to enhance bilateral cooperation in building a community of shared future.

Martínez highlighted that the meetings provide an opportunity to tackle the current challenges facing socialism from a Marxist perspective and propose practical solutions.

The leader recalled that the community of shared future between China and Cuba is the first established by Beijing with a Latin American country.

Furthermore, she stated that the partnership between the two countries strengthens the legitimacy of socialism as a developmental model for both peoples.

She emphasized that the accomplishments of the connection between Artemis and China's Hunan Province highlight the strategic significance of the relationship between the Communist Parties.

Martinez condemned the unprecedented intensification of the U.S. economic, commercial, and financial blockade against Cuba, along with the arbitrary inclusion of the island on the list of countries sponsoring terrorism.

In this context, she expressed gratitude to Beijing for consistently condemning the siege and conveyed the island's appreciation for the support provided by the Chinese government and people in crucial areas like agri-food, energy, and cybersecurity.

She pointed out that both parties provide an example of solidarity and cooperation in the construction of socialism.

Li Shulei, a member of the Political Bureau and the Head of the CPC Central Committee's Propaganda Department, emphasized the need to enhance communication and exchanges to advance bilateral cooperative relations.

He also stressed the need to develop medium- and long-term plans aimed at socio-economic development strategies.

Based on this he described China's approach to creating five-year plans, noting that they are founded on comprehensive scientific development planning.

Gladys Martínez leads the party delegation participating in this VII Theoretical Seminar, as part of the exchange of experiences and cooperation between both political organizations.

The seminar included three panels entitled Ideological Work, Economic Work and Anti-Corruption Work in which the participants addressed the main challenges related to these issues.

The delegation started its visit in Hunan province, where the cooperation between this region and Artemisa is becoming a promising example of local connections between Cuba and China, yielding tangible outcomes in agriculture, trade, and economic development.

Last September, the two nations celebrated 65 years of diplomatic relations, characterized by multisectoral cooperation and strong political mutual trust.
