Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) Central Committee member and head of the party's International Relations Department, Emilio Lozada Garcia held a virtual meeting on Thursday (June 11) with Liu Haixing, a member of the Central Committee and head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
The Cuban leader expressed his gratitude for the CPC's firm support against the U.S. government's intensified economic, commercial and financial blockade, which seriously violates the right of the Cuban people to survive and develop, as well as against the arbitrary accusations the U.S. administration has made against Army General Raúl Castro Ruz.
He also highlighted China's help in the country's energy transition and in other areas of economic and social development.
In the exchange, the Cuban side congratulated the CPC on the upcoming celebration of the 105th anniversary of its founding on July 1.
For his part, Liu Haixing said the CPC is willing to work with the Cuban side to jointly implement the consensus reached by the top leaders of both parties and countries, strengthen the exchange of theoretical and practical experiences, and advance the development of Party building and the socialist cause of each country under these new circumstances.
He said that in the face of extreme external pressure, China firmly supports the Cuban Party and people in their just struggle and will continue to stand by Cuba, offering all possible support and assistance within its means.
The meeting was also attended by department deputy heads of the Party Central Committee, the ambassadors of both countries and other officials.
