To affirm the longstanding friendship and establish a plan for enhanced cooperation between the two countries, Dr. Roberto Morales Ojeda, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and Secretary of Organization, met on the morning of October 17 with Liudmila Mwaa Maguni, the secretary for International Relations of the Central Committee of the Mozambique Liberation Front (FRELIMO).

During the meeting, Morales Ojeda expressed gratitude for the visit of the Mozambican delegation attending the First International Granma Rebelde Festival, which started in Havana. He emphasized that this event presents a new opportunity to further assess and strengthen inter-party collaboration.

He also noted that it is an opportune moment to assess the progress of the agreements made during the visit of FRELIMO's secretary general, Chakil Aboobacar, last July, to whom he extended a warm greeting.

"Our parties," he said, "can help enhance economic and commercial exchanges between the two governments, rooted in the historic brotherhood established by Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and Mozambican leader Samora Machel."

Liudmila Mwaa Maguni, the secretary of the FRELIMO Central Committee for International Relations, expressed her gratitude for the hospitality and the chance to take part in an event like the Granma Rebelde Festival.

To strengthen and expand the historic relations between the Communist Party of Cuba and the Mozambique Liberation Front (FRELIMO), both organizations signed an exchange and cooperation agreement. This agreement reaffirms their commitment to continue identifying joint actions to deepen inter-party dialogue and connections between mass organizations.

In her statements to the press, she noted that the previous agreement was signed in 2017, indicating that it's now time to establish a new instrument to enhance cooperation and solidarity between both parties, as well as to expand joint efforts for economic and social development. She emphasized the significance of taking part in the Granma Rebelde Festival, as it is a symbolic event that enables them to interact with young Cubans, gain knowledge, and bring it back to their own country.

Emilio Lozada García, member of the Central Committee and head of the International Relations department, as well as other officials of the organization also participated in the meeting.
