A delegation from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CCPCC), led by Emilio Lozada García, head of the Department of International Relations, denounced the escalation of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the fascist U.S. government and the country's irrational military deployment in the Caribbean. This came during the second session of the Standing Committee of the Forum "For the Freedom of Nations!" held in Sochi from November 14 to 15.
In his speech, the Central Committee member reaffirmed Cuba's steadfast support for President Nicolás Maduro Moros and the integration of the people, military, and police in the sister Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
He also emphasized the need to keep enhancing this space as a platform for aligning positions among countries of the Global South, which make up the majority of the world.
Many participants at the Forum criticized the United States' blockade against Cuba in their speeches, and the Final Declaration adopted specifically mentions this issue.
The event also provided a favorable opportunity to conduct bilateral meetings with Andrey Klimov, a member of the Supreme Council of the United Russia Party and vice-president of the Forum; Liu Haixing, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China; Olga Nikolaevna Chemodanova, president of the Belaya Rus Party; Tania Díaz, vice-president of the PSUV for International Relations, along with other representatives of the political groupings that attended.
During the Forum, the United Russia Party held a BRICS-Europe session where Emilio Lozada emphasized the importance of strengthening BRICS for establishing a new, just, democratic, and equitable international order that addresses and can overcome current multidimensional crises. He highlighted Cuba's active role as a BRICS partner country in various events and reiterated the nation's commitment to engage in and contribute to the discussions, initiatives, and projects arising from this important mechanism.
The "Forum for the Freedom of Nations!" serves as a platform where delegates from over 60 political parties in the global South engage in discussions about opposing the current neocolonial practices by the United States government and its allies against countries that challenge their hegemonic agenda and control. The inaugural session was held in Vladivostok in June of the previous year.
