Cuba is not a threat! U.S. plans for military intervention and the blockade against Cuba are!

In light of yet another Cuban resolution at the UN General Assembly calling for the lifting of the criminal U.S. embargo, the Cuban people are currently facing great difficulties, under the threat of a U.S. military invasion and the CIA’s openly declared plans to undermine and overthrow the Cuban government. Since early 2026, they have been facing an energy blockade that amounts to an act of genocide. The U.S. has tightened its embargo against Cuba, provocatively blocking the supply of fuel, which has resulted in constant power outages, putting tens of thousands of lives at risk. They justify the escalation of their aggression by claiming that “Cuba threatens the U.S.,” thereby insulting the intelligence of people around the world.
This is an inhumane measure of collective punishment against the Cuban people, adding to the tragic consequences of the blockade that has lasted over 60 years and has caused hundreds of billions of dollars in economic damage to Cuba, depriving its people of food, medicines, and other essential goods and services.
We must intensify our militant solidarity with Cuba and its people and demand the end of all U.S. military threats as well as the blockade, the rest of measures and sanctions. Cuba must be removed from the U.S.’s unacceptable list of “state sponsors of terrorism.”
On October 28, at the UN General Assembly, Cuba will submit a resolution titled “The Need to End the Economic, Commercial, and Financial Embargo Imposed by the United States of America Against Cuba.” Similar resolutionshave been adopted by an overwhelming majority for 33 consecutive years, with the 2025 vote tally standing at 165 in favor, 7 against, and 12 abstentions.
The KKE’s European Parliamentary Group calls on the Greek government and the governments of all EU member states to vote in favor of the resolution submitted by Cuba to the UN General Assembly.
