Beijing - The People's Republic of China is set to conduct a military parade on September 3 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese aggression and the Anti-Fascist World War. This announcement was made by Hong Lei, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, during the first press conference on Thursday in the Chinese capital (local time).

A few days prior to the military parade scheduled in Tiananmen Square, where thousands of soldiers and officers will march, China intends to reflect on its national history, promote peace, and work towards a brighter future for its citizens. As stated by Hong Lei at the conference, Chinese President Xi Jinping will give a speech emphasizing a message of peace and serving as a historical reminder.

In addition, it was revealed that 26 heads of state will attend, along with international allies who played a role in the victory. During the conference, Wu Zeke, the deputy director of the Steering Group Office for the Military Parade and a senior officer of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Department of the Central Military Commission, emphasized that the parade will showcase a diverse array of strategic land, naval, and air weapons, as well as high-precision systems and unmanned platforms. All of these are domestically manufactured and currently in active service, with many being unveiled for the first time.

He also noted that the event will highlight the Chinese military's recent advances in modernization and increased combat readiness.
