The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, reaffirmed Cuba's deep appreciation for the work of the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (CEIRPP) and its extensive work in support of this cause.

On Wednesday afternoon, at the Palace of the Revolution, the Head of State welcomed a delegation from the Bureau of the Committee, which is on a working visit. During this meeting, he reaffirmed the sentiments of Cuba and its people stating, "We are a sister nation of Palestine."

The president noted that the island was one of the Committee's co-founders and highlighted its significant role within the United Nations and other organizations in addressing the Palestinian cause.

In expressing gratitude for the welcome, His Excellency Mr. Coly Seck, President of the Palestine Committee and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Senegal to the UN, emphasized the time the Cuban President set aside for this meeting despite numerous commitments.

After introducing the members of the Committee's Bureau accompanying him, Ambassador Seck explained that, as a part of the United Nations General Assembly, the Committee consists of 25 members and 24 observers who "agree that Palestine should be free and a sovereign state." These are the goals they pursue, developing a comprehensive agenda at the UN and within various other multilateral organizations.

Political Bureau member Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the meeting alongside Emilio Lozada García, head of the Central Committee's Department of International Relations; Anayansi Rodríguez Camejo, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, and other officials.

Since 1975, the CEIRPP has been a subsidiary body of the United Nations General Assembly, tasked with garnering international backing for a peaceful, just, and enduring resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, centered on the two-State solution. Its main focus is promoting the Palestinian people's right to self-determination, national independence, sovereignty, and the right to return of refugees.

Cuba, a founding member and Vice-Chair of the Committee, has consistently supported and stood in solidarity with the just cause of the Palestinian people. It remains steadfast in its commitment to assist in legitimate international efforts to end the genocide against the Palestinian people.
