Creation of the Albanian Communist Youth Organization, painting 1982 -- Daily LIFT #1500
The Labour Youth Union of Albania, the youth organization of the communist Party of Labour of Albania was founded on November 23, 1941 as the Communist Youth.
In the painting Enver Hoxha stands and addresses the table. To his right is Qemal Stafa, elected Political Secretary of the Communist Youth, who was murdered by the occupying Italian fascist forces in May, 1942.
To his right is Nexhmije Hoxha Xhuglini who was a communist leader and who later married Enver Hoxha in 1945. She was a major political figure in socialist Albania and fought to save socialism from counter-revolution after Hoxha's death in 1985 and during the European counter-revolutionary wave of 1989-91. She was, sadly, imprisoned for several years in the 1990s after the counter-revolution on entirely trumped up charges of embezzlement. She died in the year 2020 at the age of 99.
