Che meets and embraces legendary German Communist Heinrich Rau, GDR 1960 -- Daily LIFT #1599


Rau was a militant Communist who fought for the Republicans in the Spanish Civil War and was imprisoned by the Nazis for years multiple times including in the Mauthausen Concentration Camp where he helped foment an upspring in the final days of the war.


He played a number of government roles in the German Democratic Republic until his death in 1961.
