Deputy to the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR Maria Cherepnina (left) with her family, 1951 -- Daily LIFT #1611

From the Soviet press, April, 1951: "The elections held in February to the Supreme Soviets of the Union and Autonomous republics were a new demonstration of the unity of the Soviet people around the Communist Party and the Soviet Government. Once again the people sent their best representatives, candidates of the Stalin bloc of the Communists and the non-Party people, to the highest organs of power in the country. One of the deputies elected to the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR is Maria Cherepnina, prominent weaver of the Markov Weaving and Finishing Mill, Moscow, shown above at home with her son Julius and daughter-in-law Olga."
