The top photo show the absolute devastation wrought by the US imperialists on Pyongyang. US bombing destroyed 75% of Pyongyang alone and brought similar death and destruction to other DPRK cities. 12–15% of the North Korean population was killed during these horrific bombings, approximately 1.2 million to 1.5 million people.

Socialist Korea rebuilt, however, in amazing time as the 1961 photo shows.

This square is now surrounded by a massive, modern city.
