President Ho Chi Minh signs an order to promulgate the 1959 Constitution on January 1, 1960 -- Daily LIFT #2028

President Ho Chi Minh, the leader of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, officially signed the order promulgating the 1959 Constitution on January 1, 1960. This constitution replaced the 1946 Constitution and was adopted by the National Assembly of Vietnam on December 30, 1959 prior to Ho Chi Minh’s signing. The promulgation formally put the constitution into effect at the start of the new year.
