Dmitry Nalbandyan was a full member of the USSR Academy of Arts, twice winner of the Stalin Prize, winner of the Lenin Prize, was made a People’s Artist of the USSR, a Hero of Socialist Labor (1976) and became a member of the Communist party of the Soviet Union in 1948
