The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, remarked that it is noteworthy how his visit to our country has commenced in a truly splendid manner, with an event that reflects the core of our relations and the mutual political trust that defines us. He made these comments while welcoming Ho Phuoc Dung, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, on Tuesday at the Palace of the Revolution.
He was referring to the ceremony that both had led a few hours earlier to mark the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations, which began on December 2, as well as the commencement of the Vista Alegre photovoltaic solar park project in Jaruco, Mayabeque province. During this event, the 68th anniversary of the Granma Yacht landing and the Day of the Revolutionary Armed Forces were also celebrated.

Díaz-Canel noted that during a challenging period for Cuba, "the embrace, greeting, and gesture of Vietnamese friends" have come once again.
Reflecting on the historic state visit to Cuba in 2024 by To Lam, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and his visit to the Indochinese nation last September, the Head of State recognized that "party relations are the foundation of our relations." He also reaffirmed the commitment to further develop economic and commercial ties through mutually beneficial business projects.

The Cuban president highlighted numerous facts that demonstrate the genuine and sincere friendship between the two nations. He also expressed gratitude to the Party, the Government, and the people of Vietnam for their continuous support for our country in challenging situations.
The Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister expressed his joy at visiting the fraternal people of Cuba and being welcomed, along with his accompanying delegation, by the President of the Republic.

Since our arrival, he mentioned, we have experienced the unique solidarity and closeness of the Cuban people towards the Vietnamese. We take pride in this friendship and in the opportunity to enhance bilateral cooperation to deeper and more prosperous levels.
It is our determination, he said, to stand by the people of Cuba and support them in their struggle against the blockade to which they are subjected by the Government of the United States.
