President Thongloun Sisoulith of Laos regarded President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez's official visit to this allied nation as an historic milestone in the fraternal relations between #Cuba and #Laos.
After greeting the Caribbean Head of State with a firm embrace at the Presidential Palace and conducting the ceremony before the assembled troops in his honor, the President of Laos extended "a warm and fraternal welcome" during the official discussions.
Sisoulith remembered the recent times they have met, in locations like Moscow, Hanoi, and more recently, Beijing.

The President of Laos extended warm greetings to Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, whom he regarded as a close friend.
During the discussions, where they assessed the current state of both nations and areas of bilateral cooperation, the Lao President stated that #Cuba and #Laos are more than just friendly countries; they form a family.
President Díaz-Canel expressed gratitude for the warmth and hospitality he has experienced since his arrival in Vientiane. He reminisced about his 2018 visit to the country and emphasized that Cuba places great significance on its bilateral relations and political dialogue with Laos.
He described the friendship between the two peoples as strong and unbreakable, and he remembered how these bonds were formed in the late 1960s, when Cuban doctors aided the Laotian people in the Viengsay caves during the war.
