Final Declaration of the International Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba and Anti-Imperialism, “100 Years with Fidel”, translated from the Spanish
On May 2, 2026, 766 delegates from 36 countries, representing 152 political, social, union, solidarity, youth, and peace organizations, came together in Havana for the International Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba and Anti-Imperialism, “100 Years with Fidel” and declared that:
We’re holding this meeting in a world facing multidimensional economic, financial, political, security, and environmental crises, made worse by the aggressive escalation of American imperialism.
The government of the United States, in its eagerness to preserve its declining hegemony, flagrantly and systematically violates international law and the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations; it fuels conflicts, encourages military aggression and wars aimed at plundering the natural resources of sovereign states, and launches campaigns of lies and disinformation to justify its actions.
We firmly denounce and oppose the current US administration’s violent escalation, which is the primary threat to global peace and security.
We denounce the energy blockade and the threat of war against Cuba, the increased restrictions of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade, and the unjust inclusion of Cuba on the list of states accused of sponsoring terrorism.
We reject President Trump’s Executive Order from May 1, which introduces new unilateral, illegal, and abusive measures against Cuba in key areas like energy, mining, and defense, aimed solely at collectively punishing the Cuban people.
We demand an end to disinformation campaigns, political subversion and all interference in the internal affairs of the island.
We see the Cuban people's resistance growing stronger in the year marking the centenary of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, with his anti-imperialist, humanist, and Latin Americanist ideals remaining as relevant as ever in confronting the immense challenges of today's world.
We reaffirm that Latin America and the Caribbean must continue to be a Zone of Peace. We strongly reject the latest threat of military aggression against Cuba by President Trump, announced last night in Miami. We stand with the international campaign calling for the immediate release of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores.
We demand an end to the genocide against the Palestinian people. We denounce the attack perpetrated by Israeli troops against the second Global Sumud humanitarian flotilla. We demand the immediate release of the activists kidnapped by the Zionists.
We are committed to:
Ongoing massive campaigns in front of U.S. embassies, sending letters to parliaments, and organizing mobilizations in the world's major cities.
Creating a network to counteract media manipulation and build solidarity with Cuba.
Continuing to promote the Our America Convoy as a powerful way to build political and material solidarity.
No power can break the spirit of those who keep Fidel in their hearts. The empire builds walls, while we weave nets, share hugs, and preserve memories. Every letter, every brigade, every flag in the square is a piece of Cuba’s homeland. Fidel lives on in our unity, our spirited tenderness, and our belief that a better world is possible.
Comrades and friends of Cuba around the world, we invite you to join the First International Colloquium “Fidel: Legacy and Future,” taking place from August 10 to 13. Standing with Cuba in this crucial moment is a way to honor Fidel’s life’s work and enduring legacy.
Let us unite and channel our determination into this fortress of ideas.
Long live Fidel Castro on his centennial! Long live the Cuban Revolution!
Down with the imperialist blockade! May 1st belongs to the people, not to capital!
Let's mobilize against the war and for Cuba!
