For and with Cuba, down with imperialism!

Political Note from the Brazilian Communist Party (PCB)

The Brazilian Communist Party (PCB) raises its militant voice to denounce yet another criminal offensive by U.S. imperialism against the heroic Cuban Revolution. The farcical accusations of Donald Trump's government against Commander Raúl Castro are nothing more than a cynical political operation, mounted to justify the intensification of the blockade, economic persecution, and threats of aggression against the Cuban people.

At 94 years old, Raúl Castro remains a living symbol of revolutionary dignity, anti-imperialist resistance, and the tireless struggle for the sovereignty of all peoples. His historical trajectory, built alongside Fidel Castro and the Cuban people, is marked by the defense of national independence, social justice, internationalist solidarity, and socialism. To attack Raúl Castro is to attack the Cuban Revolution itself; it is to attack the right of all peoples to build their own destiny without submission to imperialism.

U.S. imperialism has never accepted that a small socialist island, blockaded and sabotaged for decades, could defeat hunger, illiteracy, and colonial subjugation, and build a system based on human dignity. Cuba continues to be an example for workers, for youth, and for all oppressed peoples of the world. That is why it is persecuted. That is why it is attacked. That is why it is a permanent target of the conspiracies of imperialist big capital.

The criminal and delusional accusations of the Trump government have no moral, political, or legal legitimacy. These are typical methods of fascism and imperialist policy: fabricate enemies, spread lies, and create a war-like atmosphere to justify further aggression against sovereign nations. After its political and military defeats in different parts of the world, imperialism tries to show strength by threatening Cuba, believing it can intimidate a people who, for over six decades, have resisted with courage, political awareness, and revolutionary spirit.

Cuba is not alone. The Cuban Revolution belongs to the history of humanity's emancipatory struggles. Every threat against Cuba is a threat against all peoples fighting for sovereignty, social justice, and national liberation. Every imperialist sanction reveals the barbaric character of a system based on war, plunder, and the exploitation of workers and dependent nations.

The PCB also denounces the passive stance of the Brazilian government in the face of aggression against Cuba. Instead of assuming a firm position of solidarity with the Cuban people, the Brazilian government remains subordinate to the diplomatic logic of conciliation with the interests of the great powers.

The Brazilian Communist Party reaffirms with militant firmness: all support to Commander Raúl Castro! All solidarity to the heroic Cuban Revolution! We demand the immediate end of the criminal economic blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba and reject any attempt at military aggression, sabotage, or destabilization against the socialist island.

History has already shown that empires pass, but struggling peoples remain. Cuba has resisted, resists, and will resist. The Cuban people will never kneel before imperialism. And the workers of the world will know how to defend the homeland of Martí, Fidel, Che, Camilo, and Raúl.

Down with imperialism!
