The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) reports that on October 3, 2025, the dockworkers at COSCO’s piers in the Port of Piraeus participated en masse in the strike called by the Container Handling Workers’ Union in the Port of Piraeus (ENEDEP).
The workers and their union were striking in response to the criminal attack on the Global Sumud Flotilla Gaza solidarity fleet by Israel.
As with earlier mobilizations, they reiterated their commitment to stopping these shipments of death and to resist becoming cogs in the war machine. They also reitaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that Greek ports do not become bases for war.
The dockers are joining forces with their colleagues in other Mediterranean and European ports in order to coordinate their struggle as agreed upon at a recent international meeting
Nikos Ambatielos, a member of parliament for the Communist Party of Greece, attended the dockers’ strike rally.
