Huge crowds in Havana rally for IWD under the slogan Cuba Vive y Trabaja

For the first time in three years a mass rally was held in Havana to celebrate International Workers' Day.

Under the slogan Cuba Vive y Trabaja -- Cuba Lives and Works -- many tens of thousands came out to show their support for the revolution and Cuban socialism.

Raúl Castro and Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez were in the Plaza de la Revolución to greet the huge crowds.

According to Granma people from around the world were also there in solidarity and large rallies were held in other Cuban cities such as Santiago de Cuba and Pinar del Río.
