Tens-of-thousands of Cubans -- led in Havana by Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, and other government ministers -- rallied across the country March 2 in an often emotional display of solidarity with the people of Palestine and Gaza. They did so as part of the global day of protest against the ongoing genocidal slaughter and in advance of a possible Israeli attack on Rafah.
“Cuba, which will never be indifferent to a crime of such proportions, joins the global day of support for the Palestinian people and demands that the Israeli genocide in Gaza be put to an end" Díaz-Canel Bermúdez said. "Today we have expressed the pain and indignation of the people of Cuba" at the impunity with which Israel has been allowed to continue its relentless bombing.
