December 2 is Laos National Day commemorating the founding of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in 1975, marking the end of the monarchy and the beginning of modern socialist Laos.

This event marked the beginning of the country's socialist transformation led by the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and the great Marxist-Leninist revolutionary Kaysone Phomvihane. He was the LPRP's General Secretary from 1955 until his death in 1992 and served as the country's 2nd President and 11th Prime Minister.

The day serves as a reminder of the tremendous sacrifices and efforts of previous generations of Laotian revolutionaries who fought for sovereignty and socialism and against US and western imperialism.

Solidarity with the people of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic!

Long Live Socialist Laos and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party!
