General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith is scheduled to visit the People's Republic of China for a five-day state visit beginning June 2. The visit comes at the invitation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and President Xi Jinping, highlighting the continuing close diplomatic and strategic cooperation between Laos and China.

Although the specific itinerary and bilateral discussions have not been publicly disclosed, the state visit will likely focus on enhancing political dialogue, economic cooperation, trade partnerships, investment opportunities, and regional cooperation frameworks.

This visit reinforces the longstanding Laos-China relations, which traditionally emphasize economic collaboration under initiatives such as infrastructure development, trade expansion, and integration within Southeast Asian and Belt and Road frameworks. Additionally, the visit is expected to strengthen political ties and pave the way for strategic discussions on mutual interests at both the bilateral and regional levels.
