With Cuba, against the imperialist criminal aggression, statement translated from the Spanish
Within the context of competition with its imperialist rivals, as an additional move towards the broadening of imperialist conflict, the United States has developed a new national security doctrine. This doctrine, which is being implemented now, aims at complete control over our continent.
To achieve this, they have deployed a military fleet in the Caribbean since October, and on January 3, they initiated aggression against the people of Venezuela, imposing conditions and seizing oil. They issue threats against the peoples in the region and replace precarious international law with the use and abuse of military force. Since the first week of January, they have nearly daily targeted Cuba with their attacks, aiming to impose a different path on its people than the one they freely chosen since January 1, 1959. These threats are not only military but also involve actions to intensify the blockade.
On January 29, Trump announced an executive order to impose tariff sanctions on any country engaging in oil trade with Cuba. This move is intended to implement Trump's earlier statement about enforcing a complete oil blockade, primarily targeting the Mexican government.
We strongly condemn this criminal action aimed at suffocating the Cuban people and oppose the pressures to change Mexico's foreign policy, which is based on the principles of self-determination and non-intervention. Yielding to pressure to abandon this foreign policy would not only be an ominous development, but it would also mark the end of the limited sovereignty that the Mexican State currently maintains.
From the perspective of communists, we firmly believe that workers and the people are the key force in countering imperialist aggression and in preventing any hostility towards Cuba. Revolutionaries must actively mobilize popular solidarity, leaving no room for passivity. This is why we endorse the "An Oil Ship for Cuba" campaign organized by the Association of Cubans Residing in Mexico and the Mexican Movement of Solidarity with Cuba, along with other initiatives.
We firmly believe in the unwavering fighting spirit of the Cuban people and the Cuban Revolution, continuing the legacy demonstrated by Fidel, Che, Camilo, Almeida, and countless others.
We are and always will be with the Cuban Revolution in its fight against imperialism.
Proletarians of all countries, unite!
The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Mexico
