With only 4 days until the Smith MAGA ballot, The DNA Report takes on the weighty subject of the Trump approach to Empire—summed up as Pax Trumpicana—as a broader reference for understanding the American Annexation operation in Canada.

Part one of this sketch introduces the geopolitical sea change ushered in by the Trump 2.0 imperial white-paper, the National Security Strategy of the United States of America, published in November 2025. This journal will consider how the renewed USA ambition of Manifest Destiny over the Americas figures into this schema.

The World Has A New Uncle Sam

Establishment opponents of Trump 2.0 have taken their time to grapple with the metastasizing of American imperial power initiated by the MAGA strongman. Most imperial critics now realize that Herr Trump cannot simply be reduced to blowhard bluster and these poor dears worry and wail over the fate of the US-led ‘rules-based’ global order which reached its zenith at the turn of this century.

In the Trumpian National Security Strategy, the hallmarks of a far-Right turn are visible in the outlining of the Empire’s “core, vital national interests”. First, and most relevant to this journal, is the white-paper’s pronouncement of a “Trump Corollary” to the preeminence presumed by US President James Monroe in 1823 over the Americas.

This updated supremacy formula dispenses with the nominal ‘non-interference’ of the Monroe Doctrine by insisting that other governments in the hemisphere will be compelled to follow Washington’s dictates around migration prevention, drug wars, prohibition of “hostile foreign incursion or ownership of key assets” and “continued [American] access to key strategic locations.” Conventional commentators describe this aggressive imperial management style as the ‘Donroe Doctrine’.

Second, the Trumpian protocol outlines a continued assumption of America’s unilateral right to the vast Indo-Pacific sea lanes to ensure “freedom of navigation” and “secure and reliable supply chains and access to critical materials”. China and India are implicitly the recipients of this imperial directive.

Third, Europe has the good fortune to be supported by Washington in upholding “freedom and security” (by buying trillions more in American murder-ware) while being exhorted into “restoring Europe’s civilizational self-confidence and Western identity”, the last being thin neo-Nazi alarm code for ‘white replacement’ hokum.

Fourth, the Middle East is not left out of this apparent retreat to the white homelands. The ultra-imperialist document explicitly warns against “an adversarial power from dominating the Middle East”, ironically citing fossil fuels and “chokepoints” while eschewing “forever wars” in the region. Quick wars won through sneak-attacks, of course, are another matter…

The Trump 2.0 summary of renewed global domination is rounded off with a fifth point about ensuring American technology remains supreme especially in “AI, biotech and quantum computing.”

Trump-USA Manifest Destiny

Trump 2.0 has quickly moved to tame the wild Americas after a perceived indulgence by Washington in the early 21st century which failed to forestall democratic reformations among Latin American subject nations known as the ‘pink tide’. Uncle Donald has adapted the Empire’s longstanding drone warfare towards a new sport of killing people in boats, be they drug smugglers or fishers. What is more, the Trump cabal is looking to extend this draconian practice to the national level—to go beyond merely assassinating individuals to the extinguishment of nations themselves, including through the act of annexation.

And so, Herr Trump brazenly effected regime change from above in Venezuela at the beginning of this year and thereby set the stage for history’s greatest oil steal. Trump’s Secretary of State, Marco ‘Ribbentrop’ Rubio has also been assigned to oversee an unprecedented ratcheting up of the embargo on Cuba which has cut off fossil fuels and other vital basics to the besieged socialist island.

However, there is a new retro-colonial dynamic in the form of a souped-up version of Manifest Destiny which is largely ignored or downplayed in conventional neocon circles. Trump’s gushing over his planned direct takeovers—complete with gaudy red-white-and-blue graphics covering the entirety of the North American continent— highlight the gap between the ambitions of the Ogre Office and the reticence of his establishment critics to grapple with the full implications of his fascist world view.

Threatening to make Canada the 51st state’ through ‘economic force’ is the most clear-cut example, however, the Orange Menace has also suggested the direct military occupation of Cuba, Mexico and the Panama canal since coming back from his four-year sequester at Mar-a-Lego. These kind of threats suggest that Trump and his sith lords think of the Americas as more of a basement to the Empire than a backyard.

Transatlantic imperialists are not particularly concerned about how Herr Trump treats countries in Latin America; in fact, European leaders and our own dear Mark Carney have been broadly supportive of Trump’s murderous decapitation of the Bolivarian reformation in Venezuela and his strangulation of shared-enemy socialist Cuba. Interestingly, and alarmingly to this journal, Trump’s annexation menaces towards Canada have drawn a virtually mute response from ‘our’ supposed allies in Europe.

However, Trump takeover threats against Greenland—a semi-autonomous colony of Denmark—under the rubric of his maniacal ‘Donroe Doctrine’ elicited a sharper response from the sinking continent across the pond. This scenario has highlighted Europe’s sense of Trump-USA ‘perfidy’ in global affairs which will be the starting point of The DNA Report’s next instalment about Pax Trumpicana.
