Dear Comrades!

The CPRF welcomes the historic re-election of Comrade Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva as President of Brazil and sincerely congratulate him in person and his Workers’ Party members as well as the whole nation with a victory over neofascist candidate Flávio Bolsonaro.

The victory of Lula wrecks USA plans and blocks the advance of US imperialism, the far right and oligarchs in Latin America. The election reaffirmed a desire of the Brazilian nation to take its own way of development with social inclusion, sovereignty, democratic freedoms, and rights for the people.

Lula’s victory over far right candidate a is being celebrated by practically all democratic and progressive forces from West to East. It is especially significant for the peoples and countries of Latin America and the Caribbean in the face of the United States’ neocolonial offensive in the region and sounds like a call to unite our ranks in struggle against the world imperialism, neocolonialism, and fascism.
