Russian Minister of the Interior visits Cuba

The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, described the visit of Police General Vladimir Alexandorovich Kolokoltsev, Minister of the Interior of Russia, and the delegation accompanying him as "of enormous significance" because of "the moment in which it is done."

"Thank you very much for being in Cuba," the president told Kolokoltsev when greeting him on the porch of the meeting room of the Palace of the Revolution, where both delegations held talks, while the senior military officer of the Russian Federation expressed his happiness at being back on the island, where he has close friends.

Díaz-Canel noted that this visit is yet another demonstration of the sensitivity shown by the Russian Federation, including its governing party, government, armed institutions, and the minister himself. The Head of State emphasized the significance of the visit by the Russian Minister of the Interior and his team to discuss the complex global situation, particularly in Latin America, the Caribbean, and especially Cuba.

He remembered that during General Vladimir Alexandorovich Kolokoltsev's last visit in November 2023, our nation was dealing with the intensification of the blockade, a widespread media disinformation campaign, and the effects of being added to the spurious list of countries supposedly sponsoring terrorism.
