The Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN) of Nicaragua and the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) signed a formal cooperation agreement on Tuesday (July 11) marking a milestone in their long-standing friendship and ideological solidarity.

According to teleSUR, the agreement was designed to deepen the bond of friendship, comradeship, and solidarity between the two nations, guided by the philosophies of Augusto César Sandino and Ho Chi Minh. It aims to strengthen the sovereignty and well-being of both peoples through:

• Regular high-level delegations and exchanges

• Seminars and political training for young leaders

• Sharing of theoretical and technical experiences in areas such as mass leadership Daily Motion

The signing was framed as a continuation of the shared struggle for self-determination and national liberation, with both parties committing to practical cooperation in political, ideological, and leadership development.

The agreement comes amid heightened bilateral engagement, including the 47th anniversary of the Sandinista People’s Revolution (July 19, 1979–2026). Vietnamese and Nicaraguan officials have repeatedly emphasized their profound historical affinity and the role of the Sandinista victory as inspiration for liberation movements worldwide.

Nicaragua’s Ambassador to Vietnam, Mario José Armengol Campos, highlighted that Vietnam holds a special place in Nicaragua’s foreign policy, with cooperation priorities in diplomacy, politics, economy, trade, and people-to-people exchanges. The agreement is seen as a concrete step to nurture the relationship founded on the longstanding ties between the CPV and the FSLN.

The cooperation aligns with ongoing initiatives such as:

• Expanding people-to-people exchanges and cultural ties

• Strengthening economic and political cooperation

• Supporting youth leadership training and ideological solidarity
