The 30th International Seminar "Parties and a New Society" took place from October 8 to 10 in Mexico, organized by the Labor Party (PT). The event was dedicated to the centenary of the birth of the Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro Ruz, and was attended by more than 260 delegates from 39 countries, belonging to 101 political organizations and movements from the five continents.
During the seminar, a special session was held to pay tribute to Fidel Castro Ruz. This featured the participation of Katiuska Blanco, who spoke about the leader’s connections with leftist forces worldwide. In addition, René González Barrios, director of the Fidel Castro Ruz Center, showcased his Selected Works and a special edition of the magazine Caguairán, published by the institution.
The Cuban delegation was led by Eugenio Martínez Enríquez, the Cuban ambassador to Mexico, and included officials from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CCPCC) as well as members of the embassy.
Over its three days of sessions, the meeting served as a space to show solidarity with Cuba and support the resilience of its people against U.S. sanctions. Special guests included former Colombian presidents Gustavo Petro and Ernesto Samper, along with former foreign ministers Ricardo Patiño of Ecuador and David Choquehuanca of Bolivia.
During the meeting, a video message from Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the PCC and President of Cuba, was shared. He expressed gratitude to the PT, the government, and the Mexican people for their constant support of the Revolution. He also criticized the increased blockade and energy siege imposed by the United States on the island, while reaffirming the Cuban people's determination to face these challenges, defend their sovereignty and independence, and carry on building socialism.
