Dear comrades!
Within a few months, another attempt has been made to ban your party through the Constitutional Court. On 14 November 2025, the Polish President submitted a request to ban the Communist Party of Poland. Your party is to be declared unconstitutional and thus banned.
This follows numerous repressive measures that have been taken against your party and its members for several years due to their use of communist symbols.
This renewed attempt is taking place against a backdrop of historical falsification, the equating of communism with fascism, the socialist Soviet Union and fascist Germany in almost all EU countries. It is taking place against the backdrop of NATO's war against Russia, which is being waged using Ukraine and is ultimately directed against the People's Republic of China. The unprecedented war propaganda and armament is necessarily linked to increased anti-communism. The activities of communists, who are most consistently opposed to such policies, are to be banned.
We communists in Germany have our own experience with the banning of communist parties. The KPD was also banned by a constitutional court in 1956. In 2021, there was a threat of a ‘cold party ban’ in which the DKP was to be stripped of its status as a political party under false pretenses. This was prevented at the time by broad international solidarity.
International solidarity is still necessary today, and we will do everything in our power to raise public attention to the political persecution of communists in Poland.
The German Communist Party stands in solidarity with the Communist Party of Poland.
We are convinced that you will continue your work for peace and socialism.
Hands off KPP!
