Solidarity statement with the Palestinian people against Israeli settler-colonial occupation of the West Bank: Communist Part of Swaziland.

Thursday, 20 August 2026: The Communist Party of Swaziland (CPS) extends its full solidarity with the Palestinian people as they fight against the Zionist occupation in their land.
We particularly note and condemn the escalating settler attacks and forced displacement of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. In this respect, we salute the efforts of the Palestinian Youth Democratic Union, among others, as they continue to resist the Israeli settler-colonial occupation of Palestine and the resulting displacement and suffering of Palestinian communities.
We condemn, in the strongest terms possible, the ongoing expansion of apartheid-driven illegal settlements, house demolitions, forced evictions, military raids, and restrictions on movement that have made the lives of many Palestinian families in the West Bank, especially youth and children, unbearable.
The Israeli colonial occupation seeks to erase the Palestinian people’s history, fragment their land, and deny their right to self-determination. Since 7 October 2023, the Israeli genocidal machine has murdered at least 73,399 Palestinians in Gaza, wounding and maiming at least 174,000. Within the same period, at least 1,122 Palestinians have been killed in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem. Israeli settlers continue to invade homes of Palestinians in the West Bank, and the military has heightened its attacks, making life worse than ever before.
As a party that emerged from the struggle against colonialism and apartheid in Southern Africa, we recognise the parallels, and we refuse to be silent. The displacement of Palestinians from their homes and land is not a “conflict” between equals. It is a product of a settler-colonial system sustained by military force and impunity.
We salute the courage of Palestinian youth who, despite arrests, harassment, and violence, continue to organise for democracy, social justice, national liberation, and the right of return. Their resistance reminds the world that the Palestinian people have not surrendered their right to live in dignity on their own land.
The CPS therefore reaffirms the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and to an independent, sovereign state of Palestine. We also condemn and call for the end of the Israeli occupation of Palestine, the construction and expansion of settlements, and all policies of forced displacement.
We demand our own African Union and Southern African Development Community take concrete measures to hold the occupying regime accountable to international law. Over and above these calls, we pledge to strengthen our solidarity ties with all Palestinian and all progressive and anti-imperialist forces fighting for a free Palestine.
