Theoretical Councils of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and Communist Party of Vietnam meet

The Central Party Theoretical Council of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and the Central Theoretical Council of the Communist Party of Vietnam met to discuss preparations for the upcoming theory conference between the two Parties and orientations for future cooperation.

The meeting was led by Politburo member and Council President Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune of Laos and Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Doan Minh Huan of Vietnam.

The discussions focused on joint research on strategic issues of mutual concern, linking theoretical studies with practical reviews and policy consultation, building cooperation networks, connecting young theory researchers, and publishing bilingual research works.

The meeting highlighted the effective implementation of their memorandum of understanding, particularly the rotation of organizing theory conferences between the two Parties.

Kikeo greeted the Vietnamese delegation and conveyed his confidence that the visit would enhance the strong friendship, unique solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic partnership between the two countries.

He observed that the visit occurs as both Parties, along with their governments and citizens, continue to implement the resolutions from their respective Party congresses. This visit also aligns with Laos celebrating the 64th anniversary of Laos-Vietnam diplomatic relations and the 49th anniversary of the Laos-Vietnam Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation. Additionally, both sides are planning activities to commemorate these historic milestones next year.

Kikeo informed the Vietnamese delegation about the recent accomplishments of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, highlighting the successful completion of the 12th National Party Congress in early 2026, the 12th National Organization Work Conference, the 6th National Party Inspection Work Conference, the 1st National Media Conference, and the Party congresses across various political sectors.
