Venera 10 lands on Venus

On October 25, 1975, the Soviet spacecraft Venera 10 landed on the surface of Venus. This was just 3 days after Venera 9 had landed on the planet some 2,200 kilometers away.

The craft took measurements and snapped photographs for a full 65 minutes despite the exceptionally harsh conditions on the planet's surface.

This stamp was issued in honour of the two missions.
