Atwin backtracks on Palestine

As former Green Party leadership candidate Dimitri Lascaris noted, "You do not change the Liberal Party. The Liberal Party changes you."

Jenica Atwin, the MP for Fredericton who crossed the floor from the Greens to the Liberals four days ago appears to have backtracked on her recent comments in support of Palestinians.

As Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East noted in a Facebook post, Atwin at first appeared to be standing by her principled comments.

She had also claimed that a lack of support for her by Green Party leader Annamie Paul after she was attacked for making those comments was a major part of the reason for her defection.

Today, June 14, however she seems to have dramatically changed her tune in a letter that she posted on Twitter.

Needless to say, this has not been very well received by many of her past supporters.

As former Green Party leadership candidate Dimitri Lascaris noted on Facebook, "You do not change the Liberal Party. The Liberal Party changes you."

Others on Twitter are calling her out as well.
