Belarus’s top parliamentary diplomacy officials met with Czech Communist Party leaders to stress open dialogue, peaceful conflict resolution, and sustained party–parliamentary contacts as tools for mutual understanding and stability.
On October 21, Sergei Aleinik, Chairman of the Standing Commission on International Affairs and National Security of the Council of the Republic of Belarus, and Sergei Syrankov, a member of the same commission, held a working meeting with Roman Roun, Chairman of the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (KSČM, Czech Republic), and Jaroslav Roman, head of the party’s International Department.
Aleinik emphasized that Belarus consistently supports open, constructive, and mutually respectful dialogue with all international partners. He argued that in today’s challenging global environment, parliamentary and party diplomacy are valuable instruments for enhancing mutual understanding, finding common ground, rebuilding trust and preserving stability.
Roman Roun stated that the KSČM supports a peaceful foreign policy, advocates resolving disputes solely through diplomatic means, and opposes any interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states.
The meeting underscores the role of non-governmental diplomatic engagement — particularly between communist and left-leaning parties — in fostering political trust and cooperation despite broader geopolitical tensions. It also reflects the KSČM’s continued interest in international dialogue and its alignment with peaceful, sovereign-state-focused foreign policy principles.
This exchange complements other recent high-level meetings between KSČM leaders and foreign political figures, such as with China’s Communist Party and Vietnam’s Communist Party, showing the party’s active role in multilateral and bilateral diplomatic initiatives.
