As of the end of 2025, the Communist Party of China (CPC) had approximately 101.29 million members, according to a report released on Tuesday prior to the Party's 105th founding anniversary. The CPC was founded on July 1, 1921.
According to the report issued by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, the number rose by over 1.01 million, or 1 percent, since the end of 2024.
The CPC had over 5.43 million primary-level organizations as of the end of 2025, up by 181,000, or 3.4 percent, from the end of 2024.
The composition of the CPC membership saw some changes.
By the end of 2025, members with at least a junior college education surpassed 59.76 million, making up 59 percent of the total, which is an increase of 1.4 percentage points compared to the previous year.
Women comprised 31.5 percent of the membership, and individuals from ethnic minority groups represented 7.8 percent, an increase of 0.6 and 0.1 percentage points, respectively.
Workers and farmers remained the largest segment of the Party, representing 32.4 percent of its total membership.
