The Communist Party of Denmark condemns the ridiculous and cynical accusations fabricated by the United States against General Raúl Castro.

The so-called “charges” constitute a farce aimed at laying the groundwork to justify a military aggression against Cuba.

This political act contributes to the intensification of the economic and energy blockade that has existed since 1962, with the addition of the oil blockade that began in January of this year.

Comrade Raúl, guerrilla leader and statesman of the Revolution, stands as an example of dignity and courage. Imperialism seeks to hold him responsible for defending his country’s sovereignty in the face of the provocative actions of the terrorist group “Brothers to the Rescue,” an organization linked to the CIA and drug trafficking. The shooting down of two aircraft on February 24, 1996, over Cuban airspace was a legitimate act of defense by the Cuban Revolution, in response to this organization’s systematic violations of Cuban airspace.

All imperialist slanders against the Cuban Revolution — which liberated the Cuban people from the criminal and dictator Batista, who was in the pocket of the U.S. mafia — are false. The cause of Cuba’s suffering is the United States’ economic and illegal blockade. Now, with the deployment of the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz and statements made by Donald Trump himself, the United States is signaling a military imperialist intervention.

Taken as a whole, the United States is revealing its true objective: to strike against the Cuban Revolution by every available means — a revolution that has served as a point of reference and inspiration for peoples all over the world in the struggle to overthrow the barbarism of the present age and build a new society free from the exploitation of human beings by other human beings.

Equally provocative is the silence of the Danish Parliament and the left wing in the European Parliament, who otherwise claim to be concerned with international law, yet remain silent in the face of the United States’ provocative illegal actions and plans.

Let solidarity between us and all the peoples of the world show that Cuba is not alone!

The Communist Party of Denmark defends the Cuban Revolution and the figures who symbolize it: Fidel Castro, Che Guevara, Camilo Cienfuegos — and beside them, Raúl Castro.

Cuba will win!
