Communist Party (Switzerland)
The Communist Party (Switzerland) notes with concern and indignation the Swiss Federal Council's decision to adopt the European Union's sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran. In practice, unlike in the Ukrainian crisis, the victim is being sanctioned!
This decision, which is incompatible with our policy of neutrality and hypocritical with regard to the imperialist aggression of the Washington-Tel Aviv (Jaffa) axis, follows a long series of opportunistic political vacillations, such as the refusal to apply the formula of neutrality in the context of the war on Iran because it is “premature” (as stated by Federal Councilor Mr. Parmelin, who apparently wants to be on one side when shots are fired and neutral when all is well) and the ambivalence in condemning both the US/Israel for the illegal attack and Iran for...defending itself.
For the second time, Iran has been blatantly attacked by the genocidal Zionist coalition in the midst of negotiations that were supposed to allow the various parties to find a common modus vivendi. There is no point in tearing one's hair out over Iran's retaliatory missiles: the country is merely defending itself, in accordance with the United Nations Charter, by striking a series of military bases scattered across half of Western Asia, which have always been instruments and symbols of Atlantic expansionism and the main source of insecurity and destabilization.
All this double standards moralism is even more evident when we consider Switzerland's silence in the face of the genocide of the courageous Palestinian people perpetrated by the Zionist entity.
Rather than sanctioning the Iranian government, thereby striking a blow against a civilian population already suffering from incessant external aggression, the Swiss Federal Council should proclaim without delay the application of full neutrality: Switzerland can make its diplomatic expertise and good offices available to act as a bridge between the parties, with a view to achieving a ceasefire and peace as soon as possible.
