Cuba has responded to Trump’s aggressive, bombastic and overtly violent and imperialist rhetoric towards the socialist nation with a symbolic Lego-style video inspired by Iran’s viral AI animations, emphasizing resilience and national dignity.

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and other officials strongly criticized Trump’s comments suggesting Cuba’s government was in its “last moments.” Cuban leaders have said these remarks are attempts to pressure and intimidate the island, emphasizing that Cuba remains sovereign and committed to defending its people despite economic and political challenges. Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Fernandez de Cossio noted that U.S. officials routinely overlook the role of Washington’s long-standing policies in contributing to Cuba’s difficulties.

The Trump administration combined threats of military intervention with economic pressures, including energy blockades and potential tariffs on countries supplying oil to Cuba. These measures triggered blackouts, fuel shortages, and disruptions in public services, while humanitarian aid arrived from countries like Mexico, Russia and China to alleviate immediate crises.

In a symbolic and creative response, Cuban content creator María Teresa Felipe Sosa released a Lego-style animated video inspired by Tehran’s AI-generated clips, which had previously mocked Trump. The video portrays resilience and defiance, highlighting the Cuban people’s determination to uphold dignity, resist aggression, and protect the island’s sovereignty. Its lyrical content emphasizes self-sufficiency, resistance to foreign intervention, and historical awareness of U.S. actions over decades.

According to the video’s lyrics:

They seek to stifle the lifeblood of this land with the talons of empire and the drums of war, from the north they unleash their poisonous breath seeking to seize what belongs to others. But this soil has roots of steel and a people who cannot be bought with money.
They raise walls of hatred and lies while the island, relying on its own strength, breathes amid 60 years of constant hostile siege—yet we continue to march forward with a firm step. There is no threat that can break our faith; the Cuban knows well how to stand tall.
Here dignity has neither price nor master; we are the guardians of our own dream. My people, stand tall, with fists held high against the invader and their dark assault.
There’s no surrender beneath this burning sun, for it’s known that the homeland must be defended. Resist my brother with your head held high for every victory in the battle-hardened struggle, your love is the compass of our people, for you know that the homeland must be defended.
