MOSCOW, Russian Federation - Roberto Morales Ojeda, a member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, characterized his Wednesday afternoon meeting with Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev, president of the United Russia party and vice president of the nation's Security Council, as "very friendly and familiar," emphasizing the strength of the historic relations between Cuba and Russia.

The party leader extended a warm greeting to Medvedev from Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, the leader of the Cuban Revolution, and Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, who fondly recall meetings held in recent years.

"We are pleased with the excellent state of our relations with the United Russia party," said Morales Ojeda, while emphasizing our Party's commitment to further deepen and diversify them, as "the importance of collaboration increases in the current circumstances we face."

When greeting his counterpart, the President of the United Russia Party expressed gratitude for the meeting and returned the greetings from Army General Raúl Castro Ruz and Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez. He also emphasized the significance of coordinated and unified efforts between the Parties of both countries.

The leaders agreed that Cuba and the Russia are currently facing numerous complexities due to Western economic sanctions. They emphasized that, given these challenges, it is beneficial to exchange ideas and explore ways to strengthen economic relations and broaden political dialogue.
