Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz passed away on Tuesday, September 16, at the age of 88, after battling an illness.
He led multiple ministries focused on the economy, acted as Cuba's representative on the international stage, co-led the Intergovernmental Commissions for economic and financial relations with several nations, served on the Central Committee of the Party, and was a deputy in the National Assembly of People's Power.
Honored with numerous national and international awards, he was simple, modest, and austere, earning the complete trust of Fidel, Raúl, and the leadership of the Party, the State, and the Government. For his exceptional services to the Homeland, he received the honorary title of Hero of Labor of the Republic of Cuba. Heartfelt condolences to his family.
