After attending the central ceremony and military parade marking the 80th Anniversary of the sister country's Independence, the Head of State expressed to both leaders, during each exchange, his "congratulations for the magnificent event" he observed.

He described it as a beautiful, patriotic act, reflecting Vietnam's rich traditions, the heritage of its independence, and the unity of its people with the Party, the State, and the Government.
Díaz-Canel emphasized that today we have felt the profound revolutionary and socialist sentiments of the people. He also praised the significant support and dedication of the new generations to the political and social process in this country.
At the reception held at the Government Palace, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conveyed his greetings to comrade Manuel Marrero Cruz and other Cuban officials. He extended his congratulations on the progress and enhancement of bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including agriculture, biotechnology, industries, and energy.

The head of government emphasized, "I would like to affirm that Vietnam consistently values Cuba's sentiments towards our nation, and we will always support the Cuban Revolution." He also praised the outcomes of the recently conducted intergovernmental commission.
The Cuban President sent comrade Pham Minh Chinh greetings from Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, leader of the Cuban Revolution, and reminisced about the meetings between the Vietnamese premier and the head of the Cuban government, Manuel Marrero Cruz.
Diaz-Canel made special mention of the enhancement of bilateral cooperation over the past year following the visit of To Lam, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, to Cuba. He praised the economic and social accomplishments of the sister nation, stating that Cubans also regard these achievements as their own.

IN THE VIETNAMESE PARLIAMENT
On Monday mid-morning, Díaz-Canel had a warm meeting with comrade Tran Thanh Man, the president of the National Assembly. He described him as "a friend of Cuba for many years" and expressed gratitude for "all his personal contributions to strengthening bilateral relations," both in his previous role as president of the Homeland Front and now as the leader of the Vietnamese parliament.
The president delivered a warm greeting from comrade Esteban Lazo, a member of the Political Bureau and president of the National Assembly of People's Power, and invited him to visit Cuba in his new role as head of parliament.

"The 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and Vietnam's National Day hold special significance for us," the Vietnamese leader told Díaz-Canel. He also mentioned the celebrations for the 65th anniversary of our diplomatic relations, noting that for us, this marks the Vietnam-Cuba Year of Friendship 2025.
"On behalf of the leaders of the Party and the National Assembly of Vietnam," he added, "I express my heartfelt gratitude to you, comrade, and the distinguished Cuban delegation accompanying you, for joining in the joyous celebration with the Vietnamese people."
"We also thank and appreciate your participation in the solemn events that have been organized in Cuba to commemorate events that are very important to us, such as the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the south and national reunification, as well as other significant anniversaries of ours, such as the 135th anniversary of the birth of President Ho Chi Minh."
Tran Thanh Man expressed gratitude to the Cuban people, through their president, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, "for their unwavering solidarity and the heartfelt spiritual and material support that Cuba has provided to Vietnam throughout its history of struggle for liberation, reunification, and ongoing national development."
