The first rays of sunlight had not yet illuminated the enormous face of Lenin, cast in bronze on the hill of the same name in the Regla municipality, and thousands of residents of the capital had already gathered at this height to pay tribute to this exceptional man on the 155th anniversary of his birth. There, facing the crowd, was the First Secretary of the Party Central Committee and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.

With the joy that only the working class can generate, the legacy of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, hailed as the leader of the world proletariat, was remembered. Regarding his invaluable theoretical and practical contributions, the Commander in Chief of the Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, stated: "There has been no gladiator who has fought more ideological battles than Lenin. The number of ideological battles he fought is astonishing. And his story, in this case, is not comparable with the story of other men who achieved extraordinary feats through personal merit."

And it there couldn't be a better time to issue the call for the May Day parade in the capital, that massive gathering that this year returns to the Plaza de la Revolución, the scene of great events and where, on May Day 25 years ago, the Commander in Chief expressed the concept of Revolution, the one that is a guide and beacon in the construction and consolidation of this beautiful work of the humble, by the humble, and for the humble.
In a brief but heartfelt address, Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, a member of the Political Bureau and Secretary General of the Cuban Workers' Federation, recalled the decisive role of the proletariat in confronting imperialist aggression and advancing the construction of socialism.
During the event, prominent innovators and rationalizers received replicas of the National Association of Innovators and Rationalizers (ANIR) card from the First Secretary of the Party Central Committee, which Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz had been awarded.

Several unions in the capital were also honored for their performance during the period.
This hill, located in the Havana-Matanzas Plain, has been named after Lenin since January 1924, by decree of the then mayor of the town, Antonio Celestino Bosch Martínez. On that date, an olive tree was planted there in posthumous tribute to the tireless workers' fighter and founder of the Communist Party of the former Union of Socialist Republics.
