The Second Enlarged Plenary Meeting of the Ninth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) took place from June 20 to 22, 2026 in Pyongyang. Its primary objective was to conduct an interim review of the implementation of Party and state policies for the year. The meeting emphasized ensuring coordinated progress on strategic tasks and milestones specified for 2026, a year identified as critical for achieving breakthroughs in domestic development and Party objectives

.

The discussions highlighted the ongoing efforts to implement the new Five-Year Plan adopted at the Ninth WPK Congress. This included prioritization of industrial and infrastructure projects, strengthening state governance mechanisms, and monitoring the progress of strategic development goals. The goal was to consolidate earlier achievements and set a roadmap for continued implementation, emphasizing stability and continuity in policy execution.

.

Kim Jong Un, the General Secretary of the WPK, delivered reports and led discussions outlining revolutionary activities and state policies. The meeting provided guidance for Party members on accelerating achievements in line with the strategic vision for the DPRK's development.

.

Participants reviewed progress in key sectors and identified areas requiring enhanced oversight and support to maintain momentum toward the year-end objectives. The meeting also reiterated plans for further implementation of the strategic framework laid out in earlier sessions of the Ninth Central Committee, ensuring adherence to long-term development policies.

A number of changes, recalls and appointments of party officials were made.

In his concluding speech it is reported that Comrade Kim Jong Un noted that "the U.S. indiscriminate and high-handed practices have dangerously impacted on its satellite forces and resulted in further deterioration in the bloody situation in Europe and Middle East...

Today, the world is witnessing rampant ultra-nationalism of modern version such as "America First" idea, Zionism, Ukrainian Neo-Nazism and Japanese militarism, international instability reminiscent of the disastrous scene a century ago when the whole world was involved in wars and bloodshed through collusion with one another, and frenzy high-handed and arbitrary practices of a certain country ignoring international laws. The reality goes to prove once again the justness of all of our political choices and the path we followed."
