Vintage Cookbook: Fish and How to Cook It, Evelene Spencer

Publication Details: Department of Fisheries, Canada, 1932

This vintage cookbook is genuinely vintage. Going all the way back to 1932 it is a fish and seafood cookbook published by the Canadian Department of Fisheries that promoted all sorts of recipes of various kinds to enjoy the fruits of the ocean.

By Evelene Spencer it has the famed "Spencer Method" for cooking fish in a variety of ways as well as a number of recipes for shrimp, oysters, lobsters, etc. And, a personal favourite, sardines.

There are also sections on canning, pickling and a variety of other fish goodness.

Here we look at a cross-section of them all.
