Fête de l'Humanité becomes a key Cuban solidarity platform in France

Paris, September 13, 2026: With 25 venues dedicated to discussing the challenges faced by the Cuban people, the 91st edition of Fête de l'Humanité became a key stage for expressing solidarity with Cuba in Europe. The event, attended by 570,000 participants, condemned the blockade and energy restrictions imposed by U.S. imperialism.

The delegation from the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), led by Central Committee member, National Assembly deputy, and head of the Office of Attention to the UJC and Mass Organizations, Marydé Fernández López, took part in most of these events. During these exchanges, the strong support of both the French Communist Party (PCF) and the people involved was evident, backing Cuba's struggle against the aggressive escalation by the U.S. government.

One of the key moments was at the National Council of the PCF’s stand, where Fabien Roussel, the party’s national secretary, expressed strong support for Cuba, the PCC, and the Revolution. Another highlight was at the Agora, a central stage of the Festival, where Marydé Fernández, Aleida Guevara, and Fabien Gay, director of L’Humanité, spoke in what became an emotional and massive show of solidarity with Cuba.

Equally important was the ongoing support from Cuba-Cooperation France, with whom we have historical ties of friendship and share the PCC's stand. The board, led by Manuel Pacual and its members, plays a key role in supporting the PCC’s successful participation in the Fete.

Over the course of these three days, discussions took place at various stands of French solidarity associations like Cuba Sí, Cuba Linda, and Francia Cuba, as well as in spaces representing departments and cities such as La Sarthe and Gentilly.

The delegation from the Central Committee of the PCC also took the chance to hold several bilateral meetings and kept emphasizing the importance of maintaining international solidarity and peace.
