The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) reports that on December 10, 2025, farmers from the three powerful roadblocks in Thessaly carried out a symbolic blockade of the port of Volos, while fishermen from Magnesia, who are also struggling to make ends meet, lined up their boats to block traffic from the sea.
The protesters who gathered at the port of Volos and joined forces by land and sea sent a strong message that “the people will not back down, we are on the right side and we will win this fight”.
Upon arriving at the port, the toiling farmers found riot police vans and heavily armed police forces lined up in front of the gate, demonstrating that once again the government is resorting to repression to stifle the just demands of the people, effectively blocking the port and trapping people inside it!
However, the farmers did not give in or back down. Instead, they parked their tractors in front of the police vans and demanded their withdrawal in order to carry out their planned blockade.
