Total repudiation of the U.S. terrorist attack against Venezuela!

Organize the anti-imperialist resistance!

The Brazilian Communist Party (PCB) publicly condemns the U.S. aggression against Venezuela, which occurred in the early hours of Saturday, January 3rd, in various cities across the country, particularly in the states of Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira, as well as the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores.

This attack on the national and popular sovereignty of Venezuela, promoted by the Trump administration, aims to seize strategic resources, especially oil and rare minerals, and to counter the advances that the Bolivarian revolution has brought to the popular movement in recent years. Trump intends to establish an imperialist protectorate on the continent to coordinate future attacks and threats against governments that do not follow Washington's orders. It is unacceptable for foreign forces to kidnap Maduro and his partner. This is an act of international terrorism.

This aggression is part of a strategy to dominate the entire Latin American continent and will not be confined to Venezuela alone. Colombia, Cuba, and Nicaragua will certainly be the next targets in Latin America. On the international stage, threats against Iran also continue.

The Brazilian government, up to now, has maintained a timid and pusillanimous stance regarding the signs of imminent U.S. aggression, capitulating to the blackmail and external pressures that sought to isolate the Venezuelan government.

The attempt to impose foreign domination over Venezuela in alliance with fascist oligarchies is a sign of escalating tensions and conflicts that are present and threaten all the peoples of the region.

We express our full solidarity with the Venezuelan people and their right to self-determination and legitimate defense against the military attacks promoted by the United States, as well as the necessary reaction against those who attempt to sabotage and support foreign invasion on Venezuelan territory. In an imperialist aggression, there is no middle ground: one either stands in solidarity with the attacked and aggrieved people or is complicit in the aggression.

The imperialist action must be met with the most vehement expression of rejection of imperialist interventionism and solidarity with the Venezuelan people in their legitimate right to defense and struggle for their freedom.

We call on all our members to join forces in popular demonstrations and mobilizations against the terrorist aggression promoted by the U.S. government!

For the self-determination of the Venezuelan people!

For the defense of national and popular sovereignty in Venezuela!

For the immediate release of President Maduro and Cilia Flores!

Yankees out of Latin America!

Mobilize and organize the anti-imperialist resistance!

BRAZILIAN COMMUNIST PARTY - PCB

Comrades,

Yesterday we saw that the criminal and fascist government of the United States of America made an illegal and imperialist incursion into Venezuela, kidnapping President Nicol's Maduro and also kidnapping the first lady of the country. This aggression has also resulted in 40 deaths of Venezuelans who were quietly in their homes or were defending their homeland.

This clearly violates all the principles of international law, it also violates the most fundamental freedom and human rights due to the way in which this kidnapping has taken place.

We want to warn that this is a danger not only for Venezuela, but for the whole world. Who knows if after this aggression will not come to Colombia, Cuba or even to our home, in Europe, with the invasion of Greenland, as they have said more than once.

  • We demand the immediate freedom of President Nicolás Maduro Moro.

  • We demand that the European Union and Spain firmly condemn these acts of piracy and take legal action.

  • We also demand that the International Criminal Court judge Donald Trump and Marco Rubio for fundamental violations of international law and human rights.

  • We want to join all the solidarity that is taking place throughout the world in solidarity with the people of Venezuela and with the Bolivarian revolution.

And we also want to warn that PP, Vox and Aliança Catalana have proven to be external agents in the service of the United States that have fully supported this criminal action, unlike even other elements of the European extreme right.

We want to join the different mobilizations, the different actions that will take place during these days, and we want to warn the United States of America that there is still resistance here, that the people of Venezuela will not be so easily submitted to their designs and that they will have it very complicated.

Long Live Venezuela!

Hands off Venezuela!

During the night of 3 January, the US Air Force attacked Venezuela. There were several explosions, both in the capital Caracas and in other locations. The targets were military facilities and airports, as well as the country's parliament and the presidential palace.

US President Trump announced that Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife had been taken out of the country by US forces. Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez confirmed the illegal abduction. The US military attack and the abduction of the legitimate president are intended to force a coup d'état against the anti-imperialist Venezuelan government. The Foreign Ministry in Caracas has announced that it will request a meeting of the United Nations Security Council.

The German Communist Party (DKP) condemns the criminal actions of the USA, which violate international law and are aimed at appropriating the world's largest oil reserves, and which are also directed against all progressive governments in the region – in particular socialist Cuba.

The DKP also condemns Washington's numerous other military aggressions against Venezuela. In November 2025, the US had already moved its largest aircraft carrier from the Mediterranean to the coast of Venezuela. The Venezuelan government had previously declared a state of emergency and called on the Venezuelan people and all social and political forces to activate mobilization plans to ensure sovereignty and peace.

While China, Russia, Colombia, Iran, and many other countries condemn the aggression of US imperialism as a violation of international law, the German government initially remained silent. Apparently, German imperialism's foreign policy wants to take its rightful place in the USA’s “National Security Strategy.” After his initial silence, Chancellor Friedrich Merz has now sided completely with the USA. The DKP, in contrast, declares its solidarity with the Venezuelan people and their government and calls on people to participate in and organize public rallies and actions in support of Venezuela.

The chairman of the DKP, Patrik Köbele, stated: "We condemn the recent US aggressions, which are primarily directed against Venezuela and Cuba. The attacks, which violate international law, with the kidnapping of President Maduro, undermine Venezuela's sovereignty and are intended to bring about a change of government in Caracas and promote instability in the region. We express our solidarity with the Venezuelan people and their government!"

The DKP is calling for solidarity actions and protests to put pressure on Germany’s federal government, which must condemn the attack as a violation of international law.

The DKP reaffirms its mobilization for the Liebknecht-Luxemburg-Lenin weekend from 9 to 11 January 2026 in Berlin. This weekend should be a culminating moment of solidarity with Venezuela's struggle against imperialist aggression.

The Communist Party of Ireland condemns the unprovoked US attack on Venezuela and the kidnapping of Nicolás Maduro, President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and his wife.

This attack is a breach of the UN Charter, of International Law and is an attack on the sovereignty of nations. It exposes once again that US imperialism is the biggest threat to world peace and civilisation.

This attack upon a sovereign nation is to enable the US to steal Venezuela’s vast oil reserves. It is just the latest in a long line of US attacks upon the peoples of South and Central America in the interests of US monopoly capitalism and it must be condemned and opposed by all who believe in the UN Charter and international law.

The Irish government can not be allowed to hide behind weasel words or our so-called EU partners.

It is now abundantly clear that International Law does not apply to all nations equally. By their non-condemnation of the US attack upon sovereign Venezuela, the ruling class in the NATO/EU blocs underlined their belief that they are not bound by International Law and the UN Charter. This follows on from the experience of genocidal war carried out by the zionists, who are armed and politically supported by the bloc.

We call for the maximum mobilisation of left and democratic opinion in solidarity with the government and people of Venezuela.

The Irish government must make a clear and unambiguous statement of condemnation and support the resolution of these events in the interests of the Venezuelan people.

We express of profound solidarity with the Cuban people and government who now face renewed US military aggression and deepening sanctions.

The actions of the US are driving our world to new arms race and possible nuclear war.

The contradictions within imperialism are intensifying, and the struggle over market shares and other advantages becomes ever sharper. In recent years, the peoples of Syria, Palestine, Ukraine, Sudan, and Afghanistan—among others—have suffered on account of this. Now the imperialist escalation has struck hard against the already suffering people of Venezuela.

The Communist Party of Sweden strongly condemns the aggression of the United States against Venezuela. The bombs now raining down over Caracas are not intended to promote democracy or to strike at a dictatorship; rather, their purpose is to strengthen American control in the region and to attack a state that, in the interests of its own capital, has chosen a different path and different allies. This path is no real alternative, and we emphasize the need to expose every ideological phrase and illusion in order to reveal the true purpose behind the attack.

We express our full solidarity with the Venezuelan people’s right to a life of dignity and prosperity, beyond the ravages and destruction of imperialism. We condemn every crime committed against the people and recognize their right to resist this development.

The attacks now directed against Venezuela originate in the capitalist system, which is characterized by a compulsory need for expansion on the part of capital in all countries. As long as there is room to expand, the capital of the various countries can grow in relative stability; but as soon as this room for expansion disappears, the need arises to expand at the expense of others. This development ultimately leads to war, as we have seen in Ukraine, Syria, Palestine, Sudan, and many other places.

Development under capitalism, and in its later, imperialist stage, is therefore characterized by an inevitable movement toward war—due to the system’s internal logic, wars of redistribution become impossible to prevent. Peace thus becomes possible only with socialism, and all struggle for peace must also become a struggle for socialism, in which the economy is planned according to the needs of the people.

At the same time, we see how the façade so painstakingly built around an international legal order and democracy is rapidly collapsing. The significance of international law proves to be as hollow as all the words with which capital safeguards itself. National sovereignty is nothing more than a phrase, and the bourgeois human rights are openly trampled underfoot.

The people of Venezuela—and everywhere in the world—can only rely on their own collective strength and their own ability to chart their own course. This path is the only viable one.

With this, the Swedish Communist Party forcefully condemns the imperialist attack now being directed against the Venezuelan people and their future!
